Mardis Gras and King Cakes

I have to admit, I am not a big fan of Mardis Gras, and all of the things that go along with it.
I am a huge fan of one of the smaller, sometimes overlooked Mardis Gras items.

I don't buy into the superstition part, I just enjoy eating them. Since moving here in May,
we have been introduced to alot of the local customs and observances. Some of them are
pretty odd, and we just sit back and watch those. But this is one thing I will definitely be looking forward to next year.

A Long Time Coming

I guess it's about time I wrote something. After all, it's been nearly two months since I posted. As you can see in the picture above, it is hard to not be mesmerised by that little girl. I've been spending as much time as possible with her and her brothers, and my wife. It's been wonderful having them back. I really need to work on posting more often though. I have been commenting on other people's blogs and neglecting my own... add that to wanting to be with my little girl above, and you get the idea about what's been going on. She just started laughing last week. It is so amazing watching her develop a personality. My parents are in town for a couple of weeks. We have been gone since Christmas, so it's nice to have family down. Dad is repairing our roof damage from Katrina. (Allstate finally came through with the insurance money) Take care out there, I'll be making more comments than posting, but I will try to write my own after Mom and Dad leave.
